1. Definitions
- Squadron: Refers to 2497 (Cosford) Squadron Air Training Corps. This includes our Trustees who are referred to as “Civilian Welfare Committee” or “Civilian Committee.”
- Cadet: Denotes a young person who is a member of the squadron.
- Cadet Subscriptions: Also referred to as “Subscriptions,” “Fees,” or “Subs.” This term signifies the amount of money paid to the squadron.
2. Maintenance
- The Cadet is responsible for maintaining their uniform, including ironing, sewing on badges, etc.
- Compliance with uniform dress regulations (AP1358C, available on Cadet Portal) is mandatory.
- Uniforms issued are “standard” sizes for RAF Personnel; therefore, alterations may be necessary (e.g., turning up trousers/skirt). This responsibility lies with the Cadet and their Parent/Carer, as the squadron lacks a tailoring facility.
- Replacement items due to reasonable wear and tear or size changes will be issued “like for like.”
- In cases of repeated loss or damage, the squadron reserves the right to request a donation to cover the inconvenience caused.
3. Discharge
- Upon discharge from the squadron, the Cadet must return all issued kit items laundered and in good condition.
- The squadron reserves the right to charge Subscriptions (see Cadet Subscriptions Terms and Conditions) until all uniform items are returned.
4. Contacting the squadron about Uniform
- In the first instance, contact the Officer Commanding at oc.2497@rafac.mod.gov.uk, the Adjutant at adj.2497@rafac.mod.gov.uk, or any other member of staff at 2497@rafac.mod.gov.uk; ensuring the email subject includes Uniform.
- Alternatively, you can phone the squadron on 01902 377190 on Wednesday and Friday between 7pm and 9pm.
