Celebrating 76 years since the formation of the Air Training Corps
On Sunday 5th February, we started off by getting all of the band equipment ready and making sure everyone was there and ready to go. Then, we formed up into our places and set off through Albrighton towards the church. In the band we played: ‘Dambusters’, then a drum solo, ‘When the Saints Go Marching In’, and another drum solo, ‘RAF March Past’, ‘Chopsticks’, and finally ‘It’s A Long Way To Tipperary’!
The squadron marched to St Mary’s Church and found their seats once they arrived. During the service, we sang hymns, said our Air Cadet promise and listened to readings.
After the church service, we walked to the Church Community Centre for tea and biscuits, put the instruments away, and then went home.
I had so much fun, and it was a great day! View photos of the parade here.
